East Coast Outdoors are fortunate to have an International Mountain Leader (Winter) with a depth and wealth of knowledge and experience to provide safe but challenging Gold expeditions for participants.
We provide the whole experience under our risk assessments and safe operating procedures and pride ourselves on delivering a high quality Gold Expedition.
School Staff are welcome to attend in a pastoral capacity and should have some experience of DofE expeditions and know the students who have signed up. Having a walking qualification would be desirable but not essential. Any school staff who attend do not form part of staff our ratios. See our Guidance for School Staff.
Delivering a gold expedition takes place in wild country. Our expeditions take place in the Brecon Beacons, Yorkshire Dales and Rhinogs.

We will accept direct students. In our experience they may require an additional days training and this can be completed on your school site ahead of the practice expedition. There is an extra charge of £40 per person. Please speak to a member to staff if you think this will be required.
All our Gold expeditions run during the holiday period, because of the amount of time need to undertake this type of activity and participants to receive appropriate rest.

£400 per person
A £40pp deposit is taken at the point of booking. We are unable to offer a discount on our Gold Expeditions. We work hard to keep our costs as low as possible.

The balance is payable 28 days before the first expedition is due to take place.
