FREE Participation places
As a community interest company we have a moral obligation to make our services fair and equitable. One of the ways which we do this it to "give back" where there is a need or opportunity to support others.
Although we use the term "Pupil Premium" as a catch all, there is no set of defined criteria for who and how the FREE places are distributed to, this is down to the school's discretion. You might consider using these FREE places for:
- pupil premium students,
- those on free school meals,
- students in care,
- any students identified as on a low income, or
- a student as deemed as "vulnerable".
Our only request is that the free places are not used as an overall discount, but rather must be used to benefit young people who would find cost a barrier to taking part.
How do you work out the free places?
Its an easy calculation, for every 12 students you sign up to take part we provide 1 free place. Our minimum sign up is 12 for Bronze & Silver.
Do I need to complete any paperwork?
There is no "formal" paperwork to complete, we trust that you will provide the place to those most in need or deserving. We will need a completed parental & medical consent form for every student attending.
Will our invoice reflect the free places?
Yes - once you have confirmed your final number and signed a customer agreement, we will raised a deposit invoice. The free places will be identified in the billing process.
What happens if our overall numbers change?
Numbers change all the time, some times right up to the last minute. We use numbers within our customer agreements as a guide. We wont remove a free place that has been offered, if the young person still wants to go ahead. The deposit is non-refundable.
Do I need to complete any paperwork after the expedition(s) have completed?
No - no-one needs more paperwork. We love a bit of feedback, if you have time, let us know how these young people got on and if the experience was valuable.
