Our Gold expeditions operate over 10 days in UK wild country. We provide training, a practice expedition followed by the assessed expedition which includes an acclimatisation day. We work with you to accommodate school requirements and student needs.
All our instructors are DBS checked, hold a 1st Aid certificate, a Child Safeguarding Award and are qualified for the terrain they operate in.
The cost per person covers qualified instructors, training, group kit*, camping fees, assessor reports, and attendance at a parents event. It does not cover, transport, food or personal kit.
Each walking group will also be supplied with a GPS Locator to ensure student safety and peace of mind for the parent and school.
*Group kit includes;- Tents, Trangia's, Gas, Maps, Group Shelter, Compasses, survival bags & First Aid supplies. All our equipment is well maintained and good quality
The company carries appropriate Insurance, walking qualifications and an AALA Licence to carry out safe, remote and adventurous activities at Gold Level in mountainous terrain.
Our Operations Director deliveries all our Gold DofE Expeditions, he holds an International Mountain Leader Award and is a member of UIMLA (Union of the Mountain Leaders Association)
Our Gold Expeditions cost £450 plus VAT and includes training, practice and the qualifying expeditions.
Our minimum booking is 12 students, we will accept direct entrants. A £50 per person deposit* is payable at the point of booking with the remaining balance payable before each expedition takes place.
An Agreement, along with our Terms & Conditions and other important documents are provided well in advance of the event taking place.

In preparation for the expedition, we coordinate with the school DofE Manager to attend a student / parent event at your school site.
Menu plans, kit lists, medical consent form and an itinerary are provided directly to each student, parent and school DofE Manager well in advance of the expedition taking place.
You can always hire good quality personal kit (rucksack, sleeping bag, roll mat & waterproof clothing) directly from us to keep costs down, prices start at £3.
We operate in the UK only. All expeditions take place in Wild Country.
We ask that organisations form walking groups of between 5 & 7 before the expedition begins.
We provide instructors on a 1:7 ratio. Instructor assistance is available 24 hours a day.
Yes - all our instructors stay on site overnight.
None or we will accept school staff on a 1:12 ratio.
School staff are asked to provide pastoral support and encouragement to students. Appropriate locations will be supplied to drop students off and check in with them as the week progresses.
Be mindful that mini-buses/coach are not able to access remote camping sites. We encourage school staff to find accommodation in the local area to suit their needs.
No - the cost per head does not include school staff accommodation needs.
Yes - we provide all training as part of the cost.
Yes - just email us with preferred dates and we can attend your site and take part in a presentation event for students and parents.
No - We provide GOLD standard group kit for all our GOLD Expeditions without exception.
Your welcome to support students with personal kit such as ruck sacks, sleeping bags or rolls mats.
Our assessor will complete this and put it directly on your edofe account within 14 working days after the assessed expedition.
Only personal kit hire - which is your choice to use or not.
There maybe other schools sharing the same campsite at the time of the expedition. We are usually informed by the campsite operator at the time of booking.
We provide a deposit invoice, followed by invoices for each expedition 6 weeks before its due to start. All balances must be cleared before the expedition takes place.
