Silver Expeditions: Adventure Training for Schools

Instructors, all training & preparation, group kit*, camping fees, assessor reports, and an information event are included for our adventurous training programs, specifically designed for DofE expeditions and school expeditions. Each walking group is supplied with a GPS Locator to ensure student safety and provide peace of mind for parents and schools. Transport costs, food & personal kit are not included. *Group kit includes: tents, Trangias, fuel, maps, compasses, and first aid supplies. All our equipment is well maintained and of good quality.

All our Silver DofE expeditions operate over 6 days in medium level terrain, providing an excellent opportunity for adventurous training. We include a training day, a navigation day, followed by the assessed or qualifying expedition. Our team will work closely with you to accommodate school requirements and specific student needs.

The cost per person for all 6 days of our adventurous training program, which includes DofE expeditions, is £240 plus VAT. A £40 deposit is required for each student participating in the school expeditions to secure a place. The balance is due a month before the final expedition takes place. Each participant must complete a company medical consent form ahead of the expedition.

All our instructors are DBS checked, hold a First Aid certificate, a Child Safeguarding Award, and are qualified to safely deliver adventurous training in the terrain they operate in. We fully staff DofE expeditions and school expeditions in line with our approved Risk Assessments & Safe Operating Procedures.

The company carries appropriate insurance with Activities Industry Mutual (AIM) to ensure safety during our adventurous training sessions and DofE expeditions. We have been awarded an AALA Licence and a LOtC Quality Badge, allowing us to carry out safe and appropriate school expeditions. Each expedition is guided by an experienced manager who supports participants, school staff, and instructors by monitoring risk and safety, helping train, and managing expectations.
