East Coast Outdoors was created in 2018 by a group of experienced DofE volunteers, leaders and school staff, hoping to provide young people the opportunity to take part in a safe, challenging, and cost-effective Duke of Edinburgh expedition experience. The team work hard to keep its Community Interest Company roots, and offer back in a number of ways:-
- Keeping costs down. Our price per head includes group kit, instructors and all the support you need to make your expedition successful. There are no hidden extras.
- Free participation places for every client, every year. In 2024, we gave 425 free places to young people as part of our free participation place scheme.
- Enabling participants who struggle with medical, behavioural and social circumstances to take part at every level. We are an inclusive provider.
- Fair pay for our instructor staff. Our pay scales are reviewed yearly, and we pay extra for assessment and management.
- CPD courses and opportunities to long term staff.
