Participant Kit Hire

 Your can hire the following personal kit from us:-

• Ruck Sack (65 litres) - choose from either a standard (orange) or Short (green).  All our ruck sacks come with waterproof covers.  See the item for more information before you make a choice. 
• Sleeping Bag (all weather), 
• Roll Mat (basic foam mat), 
• Water proof clothing (small/medium/large/X-Large adult sizes) and 
• Eating utensils (bowl/plate/mug/fork/knife/spoon)

Like a shop, press on the item(s) you want to hire (below) and add them to your cart. Pay the hire fee at the checkout via STRIPE (credit/debit card can be used) and kit will be assigned to your child.  

Yes - an email will be sent to the email address provided to confirm receipt of your order. 

Any kit hired is delivered to the expedition site and can be collected on the first day of the expedition and returned before participants leave the expedition site.  It is recommended that you bring personal belongings in a black bin liner or dry bags.  These can be used to line the inside of the ruck sack and keep your personal belongings dry. 

For large schools we supply good quality ruck sack liners. 

 All orders must be placed no later than 72 hours before the expedition is due to start.    If you are ordering outside this cut off point please contact us on 07706 476179 before you place an order. 

 Yes - you will need to do two separate orders before each expedition.  

No - the website currently uses generic requests for information.  Kit is transported to the expedition venue for collection on the first day.

The orange ruck sack is our standard size ruck sack and carries 65 litres. Our Green ruck is our short ruck sack for petite and shorter framed students and also carries 65 litres. 

Please read individual details about each of the ruck sacks and measure your back size. 

Sizes are all adult unisex.  When you hire think about what you might be wearing underneath as this will affect the size you need.  

Email Kit-hire@eastcoastoutdoors.co.uk giving your child's full name the school they attend and DofE level they are doing.  If you have the order number this is also helpful. Set out what you would like changed or added to the order. 

Kit Hire is non-refundable, unless East Coast Outdoors CIC has cancelled the expedition.
