All our Bronze expeditions operate over 4 days in low level terrain. We provide training, a navigation day followed by the assessed expedition and work with you to accommodate your school requirements and students needs.
All our instructors are DBS checked, hold a 1st Aid certificate, a Child Safeguarding Award and are qualified for the terrain they operate in.
£146 per person plus VAT
The cost per person covers qualified instructors, training, group kit*, camping fees, assessor reports, and attendance at a parents event. It does not cover, transport, food or personal kit.
Each walking group will also be supplied with a GPS Locator to ensure student safety and peace of mind for the parent and school.
*Group kit includes;- Tents, Trangia's, Gas, Maps, Compasses & additional First Aid supplies. All our equipment is well maintained and good quality.
We accept school bookings with a minimum of 12 students. Students need to be enrolled onto the Award Scheme via eDofE. A £40 per person deposit * is payable at the point of booking.
An Agreement, along with our Terms & Conditions and other important preparation documents are provided well in advance of the event taking place.

The company carries appropriate Insurance, qualifications and an LOtC Quality Certificate to carry out safe and appropriate expeditions.
Each expedition is guided by an experienced manager who will support participants, school staff & instructors. They monitor risk & safety, help train and manage expectations.
We fully staff expeditions in line with our approved Risk Assessments & Safe Operating Procedures. We operate on a 1:12 ratio or 1:7 where there are additional group requirements.
In preparation for the expedition, we coordinate with the school DofE Manager answering any questions, organise a convenient time to attend a student / parent event at your school site and support with expectations.
Menu plans, kit lists, medical consent form and an itinerary are provided directly to each student, parent and school DofE Manager well in advance of the expedition taking place.
You can always hire good quality personal kit (rucksack, sleeping bag, roll mat & waterproof clothing) directly from us to keep costs down, prices start at £3.
One of the ways which we engage our vision it make sure the opportunity is open to as many young people as possible.
For every 12 students you sign up, we will provide 1 free place to be offered to a young person you feel is most deserving of the support.

We ask that organisations form walking groups of between 4 - 7 before the expedition begins. Our optimal number is 6 per walking group.
Our aim is to stay within 60 - 80 minutes of your school site for bronze. This isn't always possible, but we will work with you to find an appropriate venue. If you are based in London, we do look at public transport options.
We ask that your organisation provide staff on a 1:20 ratio.
Yes - once you go over the 1:20 ratio we will charge a simple £10 per head fee for school staff. For example - 80 students, 4 staff are included but the 5th is chargeable.
We provide trained staff on a 1:12 ratio minimum. Where there are additional requirements with medical, social or behavioural needs we will provide more staff to support usually on a 1:7 ratio.
Yes - all instructors are available overnight.
School staff are asked to provide pastoral support and encouragement to students. We expect school staff to look after student welfare and be onsite between 7pm and 7am. Instructor assistance is available 24 hours a day.
Yes - we provide all training and offer a few different formats.
Yes - we are able to provide a training day on your school site between January & March.
Yes - this is all part of the cost. Just email us with preferred dates and we can attend your site and take part in a presentation event to participants, parents and staff.
Where you have good quality kit which has been be well maintained, then we are happy to use it and offer a small discount per head. We provide GOLD standard kit for all our Gold expeditions without exception.
Your assessor will complete this and put it directly on your edofe account within 14 working days.
Sometimes - where numbers are small (below 20) we sometimes use the same camp site, but teams are kept separate.
Only personal kit hire - which is your choice to use or not.
Between 1st December and 31st March. We will email asking for your final number.
No - we wait until a final number has been agreed. Deposits are usually due between January and March.
Twice - once for the deposit and again for the remaining balance. Further details are provided in your agreement about specific invoice dates.
